KING OF THE HILL is a dynamic, territory-based game mode built from the ground up for Battlefield Portal. Three teams compete to dominate a single capture area — the Hill — and maintain control against constant pressure. The mode combines area dominance, real-time scoring, and safe zone mechanics to create an intense, tactical multiplayer experience.

Each team fights to secure the Hill while defending their home territories. The more players a team has inside the Hill’s AreaTrigger, the faster their score increases. A fully integrated balancing system ensures fair gameplay by automatically assigning players to the least-populated team.

In addition, the mode introduces a custom shop and purchase system where players can spend earned in-game money to buy vehicles. Spawners are intelligently managed to spawn the first available vehicle and return clear messages when no slots remain.

Strategic safe zones prevent enemy exploitation, giving each faction a protected base while encouraging players to push forward into contested zones. The match ends automatically once a team reaches the target score, declaring them the true “King of the Hill.”
