Multiplayer
This version of Gun Game is heavily inspired by the original Counter-Strike mode, adapted to Battlefield 6 gameplay and the features available in Portal.
Game Rules
- Kill enemies to progress through a random selection of weapons.
- Each weapon requires 2 kills to advance to the next weapon.
- Reach the final melee weapon and land one last kill to claim victory.
- Kill other players with your melee weapon to demote them.
Key Features
- All weapon categories are included, from pistols to sniper rifles.
- Weapon categories follow a set sequence, but the specific weapons within each category are randomized for higher replayability.
- At the start of the match, the weapon package is chosen at random, creating matches focused more on long-range or close-quarters engagements.
- A rare chance to trigger a dark, night-time variant of the map.
- Custom map setups tailored to ensure the best possible flow and balance.
Project Status
Known Issues
- Minor error logs that do not affect gameplay.
- AI bots may occasionally spawn too close to players or other AI.
- Killing an enemy with the knife during a weapon switch can result in being locked onto the knife.
- Weapon UI icons only display the base weapon without attachments.
- Final music has a slight delay before triggering.
Roadmap to 1.0
While I am proud of the mode's current state, a few milestones remain before version 1.0: - Fixing critical bugs. - Adding all remaining maps. - Integrating additional sound effects and music tracks.
Future Plans
- An improved notification queue to ensure match events display in the correct order.
- Procedural weapon loadouts with random attachments (suppressors, grips, optics, etc.).
- Themed weapon packages with strict loadout constraints (e.g., suppressed-only or iron-sights/close-range optics only).
- Addition of explosive tools (RPG-7, grenade launchers, etc.).
- Continuous updates with seasonal weapons and maps as Portal expands.
Playtesting
I need your help to test the balance and stability with full lobbies. Feedback on map flow and any undiscovered bugs will be invaluable for finishing the remaining maps.
Thank you so much for taking the time to test!
Behind the Project
Ever since Portal was first introduced in Battlefield 2042, I wanted to recreate the best Counter-Strike Gun Game experience in Battlefield. None of the existing community modes quite matched the polish and pacing I was looking for, so I decided to build my own from scratch.
Early iterations lacked crucial UI elements, notification queues, and structured pre-round phases. Building a responsive UI in BF6 took considerable effort, but picking the project back up with Season 4 finally brought all the pieces together.
